A new regional political party named "Janajagaran Assam" has been formed in Assam.

Former leader of Ganasakti Assam, Raju Medak, has been elected as the central president.

With the latest addition to Assam's regional politics, this new political party emerged from a large public meeting held on Sunday in Ruwaad village, Jonai, at the call of the Jonai convening committee of Janajagaran. The meeting was jointly presided over by Lenin Doley, Bobby Medak, and Lokesh Basumatary, and marked the birth of the regional party from the Assam-Arunachal border area, Jonai.

Around five hundred people from various parts of Assam attended this public gathering, which culminated in the formation of the new regional political party.

As per the decisions made in the meeting, Raju Medak, former leader of Ganasakti Assam and former executive member of the Mising Autonomous Council, was appointed president, with Shankar Tayung as working president and Bishal Brahma as secretary, forming a strong central committee for Janajagaran Assam. Furthermore, a women’s wing, the "Mahila Jagaran Committee," was formed with Gitanjali Bori Patir as president and Pushpa Basumatary as secretary. A "Youth Jagaran Committee" was also established, with Lokesh Basumatary as president and Prasenjit Pegu as secretary.

The Jonai convening committee’s secretary, Bijay Lalung, called on the public to support the new regional party, which was formed with the objective of unity, peace, progress, and change in Assam.
